Holy week is deeply personal. Holy week is deeply sacred.
Holy week is a journey…
This holy season we invite you to journey with us from the dusty streets of Jerusalem filled with the loud hosannas of the crowd, to the Table with his disciples, to the angry, violent voices of “Crucify him,” to the foot of the cross and all the way inside the empty tomb where we will find only the dust of a hollow grave. Come walk through the dust with us as we take a week to remember the last week of Jesus’s life: Holy week.
HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE:
Palm Sunday Morning, 11 AM, March 25 – The congregation will begin our journey by processing together from the Family Life Center to the Sanctuary. We will follow the children and choir waving palm leaves and singing hosanna. No services on Wednesday night, March 28.
Maundy Thursday service, 6:45 PM, March 29 – Communion Service with special music and narration. We will experience the deep symbols of servanthood in the service.
Good Friday service, 6:45 PM, March 30 – A new service for our congregation. A somber time of reflection as we center on the meaning and message of the cross. This service will end in complete silence.
Easter Sunday, 11 AM, April 1 – A worship celebration that begins with the triumphant hymn “Christ the Lord Is Risen Today.” We will have a guest French horn player to add to the choir anthem and congregational singing. The youth will provide a missions fundraising breakfast this morning before Bible Study, 9 am. We will recess out of the sanctuary singing, “I live, I live because He is risen!” An Easter egg hunt for the children will follow the worship service.
