Joining Our Family of Faith
We invite you to establish a meaningful relationship with Jesus Christ by
accepting His grace and forgiveness. We also welcome you to become a member of
Pelham Road upon your receiving the forgiveness of sin, or upon your testimony
of a previous faith experience in another church.
Our desire is to assist you in finding a meaningful relationship with God. We
welcome all whom God sends our way and invite you to come and join our family by
coming forward at the invitation at the close of our worship experience.
We Are A Different Kind of Baptist
With so many varieties of Baptists, some of our guests may wonder, "What
kind of Baptist are you?" While we are Baptist in our heritage, we are
unapologetically Christian. Which means Baptist is our middle name not our
first. Often times people will say to us, "Don't Baptists believe
this?" and we'll say, "We're not that kind of Baptists."
We are some other kind of Baptists-- the kind who think that there are many
ways of viewing every issue. We are Baptists who are willing to listen to
every side, because sometimes God has some surprising things to teach us.
We are Baptists who think that God calls all to full-life service, and some
to full-time ministry.
We are Baptists who think the Bible should be interpreted according to the
teachings of Christ, with respect to the priesthood of every believer.
We are Baptists who think it is more important to love and serve than to judge
and dictate.
